Using Traditional Chinese Medicine to Quit Smoking: A Natural Approach to Reduce Harm and Addiction

In recent years, Chinese medicine experts have been using traditional Chinese medicine to help more people quit smoking and reduce the harm caused by cigarettes. They have achieved good results by using Chinese herbal medicine to clear the lungs, detoxify the body, and reduce addiction to nicotine.

Quit Smoking Soup

1. Take 15 grams of roasted Ziwanyan and roasted Kuandonghua, 12 grams each of Buguzhi, Qingbantian, Pipaye, Qianhu, Fuling, Juhong, and Jiegeng, 10 grams each of Chuanbei and Shegan, 9 grams of dried ginger, 6 grams of cinnamon, and 3 grams of Xixin. Take 1 dose daily for 6-9 doses. This treatment can help reduce the addiction to cigarettes and gradually quit smoking for those who have been smoking for more than 10 years or have a strong addiction to smoking.

2. Take 12 grams of Dilong, 12 grams of Yuxingcao, and 15 grams of Yuanzhi. Boil them with 500 ml of water. Take it on an empty stomach in the morning and start quitting smoking immediately. At the beginning of the treatment, there may still be a craving for cigarettes, but if you persist for 3-5 days, the addiction will gradually decrease, and you will start to dislike the smell of cigarettes.

Quit Smoking Herbal Tea

1. Take 250 grams of pumpkin vine, wash and chop it, crush it and extract the juice. Add an appropriate amount of brown sugar and brew it with boiling water to make tea.

2. Take 12 grams of Dilong, 12 grams of Yuxingcao, and 15 grams of Yuanzhi. Boil them with 500 ml of water until it is reduced to 250 ml. Let it cool down. Take it on an empty stomach in the morning. This will help you quit smoking.

Quit Smoking Medicinal Wine

Take 60 grams of Yuxingcao, 20 grams each of Yuanzhi and licorice, 15 grams each of Dilong, Guanghuoxiang, and mint, and 1000 ml of 60-degree sorghum liquor. Crush the above herbs and soak them in the liquor for 7-15 days. Depending on your tolerance, take 6-8 doses of 10-15 ml each day until you quit smoking.

Quit Smoking Medicinal Candy

Take 60 grams of Huoxiang, 50 grams of Yuxingcao, 45 grams each of Yuanzhi and Dilong, 30 grams each of mint and licorice, and 15 grams of dangshen. Add water to a pot and boil it 3 times for 20 minutes each time. Then simmer it over low heat until the liquid becomes thick. Add 200 grams of white sugar and 50 grams of glucose powder, continue to simmer until it becomes a sticky consistency, and then pour it into a large enameled plate coated with edible oil while it is still hot. When it cools slightly, cut the candy into small pieces and take it regularly. This quit smoking candy has the effects of replenishing qi, invigorating the brain, detoxification, and reducing phlegm. It not only assists in quitting smoking but also improves symptoms such as cough, excessive phlegm, dry mouth, and dry tongue caused by smoking.

Quit Smoking Inhalant

Grind the two ends of betel nut (available at Chinese medicine stores) flat, drill a small hole in the middle of the seam, and seal it with tobacco oil. Then soak it in rice water for a week, take it out, wash it, and let it dry. When you feel like smoking, smell it a few times through the small hole, and you will feel a sweet aroma. When you smell the smoke, you will feel a bitter and unpleasant taste, and you won't want to smoke anymore. If you don't have tobacco oil, you can soak the betel nut with a few cigarettes.
