【Location】Located on the head, directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline, 5.5 cun upwards (3 cun above the point Bǎihui).
【Anatomy】Located within the aponeurosis of the scalp; it has the occipital dynamic and static veins anastomosis network; and it is innervated by branches of the great occipital nerve.
【Indications】Used for the treatment of headache, dizziness, stiff neck, and epilepsy.
【Technique】Needle insertion depth is 0.5-0.8 cun.
【Combination】Combined with Bǎihui and Hegu to treat severe pain on the top of the head; combined with Wàiqiū to treat neck and nape pain, aversion to wind and cold; combined with Yùzhěn and Qiān’yàn to treat wind-induced dizziness; combined with Shuài Gǔ and Tàiyáng to treat migraine; combined with Fēngchí to treat hair loss.
