【Location】In the chest, directly below the nipple, in the 6th intercostal space, 4 cun beside the midline in the front.
【Anatomy】It is located in the internal and external oblique tendon sheath, with the intercostal muscle; it has the 6th intercostal artery and vein; and it is innervated by the 6th intercostal nerve.
【Indications】Chest distention and pain, vomiting, belching, acid regurgitation, abdominal distention, diarrhea, loss of appetite, chest heat, coughing, dyspnea, convulsions, malaria, and Shanghan fever invading the blood chamber.
【Technique】Oblique or perpendicular insertion, 0.5-0.8 cun.
【Combination】Combined with Dandun to treat hernia; combined with Ganyu, Gongsun, Zhongwan, Taichong, and Neiguan to treat liver and gallbladder disorders, cholecystitis, gallstones, and liver qi stagnation causing pain in the hypochondrium, poor appetite, insufficient lactation, stomach pain, vomiting, belching, indigestion, and diarrhea.
