[Location] On the head, directly above the middle of the current hairline, 0.5 cun straight up.
[Anatomy] At the junction of the left and right frontalis muscles; with branches of the frontal artery and vein; with branches of the frontal nerve.
[Indications] Headache, dizziness, redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, insomnia, rhinitis, epistaxis, mania, fever.
[Technique] Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.3-0.8 cun.
[Combination] Combined with Jiān Jiān to treat excessive tearing of the eyes; combined with Xīn Huì to treat stroke-induced aphasia; combined with Duì Duì and Chéng Jiāng to treat epilepsy with foaming at the mouth; combined with Shuǐ Gōu to treat cold and fever-induced headache, dyspnea, thirst, and impaired vision; combined with Tài Chōng, Tài Xī, Yīn Qì, and Fēng Chí to treat headaches, dizziness, insomnia, and other conditions caused by excessive liver yang.
[Note] (1) The Du Meridian intersects with the Foot Taiyang and Yangming Meridians. (2) In the "Needling Acupuncture Classic", it is stated that this point should not be needled as it could cause epilepsy.
