Baihui (GV20) - Acupuncture point

【Location】On the head, 7 cun directly up from the middle of the posterior hairline, or at the midpoint between the tips of the ears.
【Anatomy】Located within the aponeurosis of the scalp; contains superficial temporal veins and arteries, as well as occipital veins and arteries that anastomose; innervated by the greater occipital nerve and branches of the frontal nerve.
【Indications】Headaches, dizziness, palpitations, aphasia due to stroke, mania, epilepsy, hemorrhoids, impotence, insomnia.
【Procedure】Insert the needle 0.5-0.8 cun perpendicularly.
【Combination】Combined with Tianchuang point to treat stroke-induced aphasia; combined with Baihui, Changqiang, and Dachangyu points to treat pediatric anal prolapse; combined with Baihui, Renzhong, Hegu, Jianshi, Qihai, and Guanyuan points to treat corpse syndrome, stroke, and qi deficiency; combined with Nao Kong and Tian Shu points to treat trigeminal neuralgia; acupuncture at Baihui point combined with ear acupoints to help quit smoking; combined with Yang Lao, Baihui, Fengchi, and Zulinqi points to treat Meniere's disease; acupuncture at Baihui point to treat temporal spasms and migraines; combined with Baihui, Shuigou, and Zusanli points to treat hypotension; combined with Baihui, Shuigou, and Jinggu points to treat grand mal epilepsy; combined with Baihui and Shenshu points (moxibustion) to treat inflammation.
【Note】GV20 is the meeting point of the Du meridian and the Bladder meridian.
