【Location】Located on the midline of the posterior aspect, in the depression below the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra.
【Anatomy】Within the lumbar dorsal fascia, supraspinous ligament, and interspinous ligament; it has branches of the cervical transverse artery, interspinous venous plexus; and the inner branches of the posterior division of the eighth cervical nerve.
【Indications】Febrile diseases, malaria, cough, asthma, bone steaming and tidal fever, headache and stiff neck, shoulder and back pain, deficiency due to excessive labor, fatigue from the seven injuries, heatstroke, wind rash.
【Technique】Oblique insertion of 0.5 to 1 cun; can be moxibusted.
【Combination】Combined with Feishu (BL 13) to treat deficiency, night sweats, and exhausting heat; combined with Jianyu (LI 15) and Rugen (ST 18) to treat spleen deficiency leading to malaria; combined with Shuangdiyu (BL 21) and Shuangdanyu (GB 30) to treat whooping cough; combined with Quchi (LI 11) for prevention of meningitis; combined with Hegu (LI 4) to treat leukopenia; combined with Zusanli (ST 36) and Mingmen (GV 4) to enhance immune function; combined with Dazhui, Dingchuan (EX-B1), and Kongzui (LU 6) to treat asthma; combined with Quchi (LI 11) and Hegu (LI 4) to clear heat; combined with Yaoyi (GV 7) and Jianshi (PC 5) to treat epilepsy.
