Men who follow a vegetarian diet for a long time may experience a deficiency in vitamin B12, which can affect their sexual function. When men have insufficient intake of fatty acids, it can interfere with sperm production, leading to a decrease in libido and even infertility. Therefore, to enhance sexual function, it is important to have a moderate intake of fats. Foods such as meat, fish, and poultry can increase the level of male hormones in the body, especially animal organs, which contain adrenal cortex hormones that can help increase sperm count and promote sperm production.

Semen protein contains a high amount of arginine, which has the ability to eliminate fatigue and improve sexual function. Foods that are high in arginine and contain a large amount of sticky substances include turtle, eel, river eel, squid, octopus, earthworm, peanuts, walnuts, sesame, seaweed, and peas. Frozen tofu has the highest amount of arginine, followed by other soy products. Taurine, found in meat and fish, has the ability to promote sperm vitality. Therefore, consuming the aforementioned foods is undoubtedly beneficial to male sexual function.

Vitamins that are related to sexual function mainly include vitamin B12, A, C, and E.

Doctors have found that in patients with severe anemia combined with oligospermia, treatment with vitamin B12 not only increases red blood cells but also improves semen quality and restores fertility, achieving a "double happiness" effect.

Foods that are rich in vitamin B12 include liver, milk, and fish. Vegetarians who do not consume these foods tend to have significantly lower concentrations of vitamin B12 in their semen compared to normal individuals.
