Operation Requirements
(1) The fingers should be naturally curved, and the back of the fifth metacarpophalangeal joint should be firmly attached to the treatment area or acupoint.
(2) Use the elbow joint as a fulcrum, swing the forearm actively, and drive the flexion and extension of the wrist joint and the rotation of the forearm.
(3) The doctor's shoulder joint should be relaxed, and the upper arm elbow should be bent forward and outward, with a distance of about 15cm between the upper arm elbow and the chest and arm. Being too close or too far is not conducive to manipulation and exertion.
(4) The elbow joint should be flexed at an angle of 120°~150°. An excessively large angle is not conducive to the rotational movement of the forearm.
(5) The wrist joint should be relaxed, and the flexion and extension range should be large. The rolling amplitude of the technique should be controlled at about 120°, and the wrist joint should be flexed at 80°~90°.
(6) The fifth metacarpophalangeal joint should be firmly attached, and the interdigital space and the back of the hand should be attached to the treatment area. It should not be dragged, jumped, or slid.
Action Process
Step 1: Prepare the posture, relax the shoulders and arms, let the shoulders sink and the elbows hang down, and place the elbow joint in front of the body with a slight flexion of about 130°.
Step 2: When rolling the back of the hand, control the amplitude to about 120°, that is, when the wrist joint flexes, the forearm rotates outward and rolls about 80°.
Step 3: When extending the wrist joint, the forearm rotates inward and rolls about 40°.
Action Essentials
When using the rolling technique, the wrist should be relaxed, grasp the fist with an empty hand, exert force on the interdigital space and the back of the hand, and firmly attach them to the treatment area. Do not jump, drag, or friction. Roll tightly and move slowly, which means rolling should be fast while moving should be slow, and the movement range should be small. The action should be coordinated evenly, and the lightness and heaviness should be appropriate. The frequency should be about 140 times per minute.
