The Therapeutic Power of Dough: A Simple and Convenient Method for Treating Diseases

A method of using dough or rubbing the affected area to treat diseases. There is also a method called "vegetable dough rubbing" where vegetable leaves are used to rub the affected area. Using tangled hair as a lump and mixing it with medicine, rolling, rubbing, patting, and rubbing are performed on certain parts of the body to achieve the purpose of treating diseases. [Operational Methods]

1. Dough Method

This is a method of kneading or rubbing dough on the surface of the skin. Wheat flour is warm in nature and sweet in taste, which nourishes the middle and strengthens the Qi, thickens the intestines and stomach, strengthens the physical strength, and assists the five organs; barley flour is warm in nature and has a mild taste, which helps to soothe the stomach, quench thirst, aid digestion, and relieve bloating, and it is less heaty than wheat flour; oatmeal flour is neutral in nature and sweet in taste, which solidifies the intestines and stomach, strengthens the Qi, and restores vitality.

2. Vegetable Dough Rubbing

This is a method of rubbing and rubbing the affected area with crushed vegetable leaves. Vegetable leaves have the characteristics of freshness, tenderness, coolness, and non-toxicity, and they have the functions of aiding digestion, moisturizing the intestines, and promoting bowel movements.

3. Hair Lump Patting

This is a method of rubbing and patting the patient's body surface with tangled hair formed into a lump and mixed with medication. Tangled hair is bitter and slightly warm in nature, non-toxic, and it enters the heart, liver, and kidney meridians; it functions to nourish Yin, dissipate heat, and remove the blood from the heart orifices.

[Treatment of Diseases]

1. Wool Rash (Sheep Wool Sores)

First, beat 1 chicken egg 200 times (make it into a paste), then add 100g of oatmeal flour (mung bean flour or green bean flour can also be used) and 100g of hot yellow wine, mix well to make a dough with a moderate texture. Then roll and rub the dough on the patient's chest, neck vertebrae, or around the navel for 3-5 minutes at each location. After rolling, you can peel open the dough and if you find something similar to sheep wool (such as gray-white, red, purple, red-black, etc.) in the dough, it indicates that it is targeting the specific condition.

2. Measles

Take 1 chicken egg, remove the yolk and keep the clear part, mix it with about 50g of oatmeal flour, and add 3-5 drops of sesame oil to form a lump. Then rub it on the child's body until the skin becomes slightly red.

3. Asthma with Thick Sputum, Heat Accumulation in Stool

Rub the chest with buckwheat flour, egg white, and a lump, until the skin becomes slightly red.

4. General Body Pain

Take 3g each of Indian frankincense, white mustard seeds, myrrh, saussurea, and cinnamon, grind them into powder, mix them with alcohol and flour, and rub the affected area.

5. Facial Muscle Spasms

Take 1kg of loofah, extract the juice, mix it with 300g of barley flour, and bake it until cooked.

6. Joint Sprains

Grind 30g of cape jasmine seeds into powder, mix them with white flour and liquor, and apply it as a paste, or mix it with flour and rub it on the affected area.

7. Fever with No Sweating and Various Febrile Diseases

Take a big handful of dried radish leaves, grind 7 or 11 hemp seeds into powder, mix them with a few drops of sesame oil to form a lump. Then rub it on the front and back of the chest, arms, and soles of the feet, from top to bottom for several rounds, until the skin becomes red and blotchy.

8. Children's Rashes

Take 250g of fresh coriander, 50g of hot yellow wine, grind them into a paste, and then gently rub the area around the seventh cervical vertebrae on the chest and back, the side of the coccyx bone, the bends of both elbows and both knees, as well as the palms and soles of the feet. Rub each area 20-40 times.

9. Hematocele

Mix 0.3g of pepper powder and 50g of vegetable leaves into a lump, and rub and knead it below the navel.

10. Eye Injuries from Smoke or Arrows

Rub the affected eye with tangled hair (washed with alkaline water to remove grease and rinsed with clean water).

11. Erysipelas

Mix peach gum with tangled hair into a lump, and then rub and rub the affected area.

[Precautions]

1. When kneading the dough, the texture should be soft and suitable, neither too dry nor too wet.

2. When rubbing and rolling, the technique should be gentle and the force should be moderate. Avoid vigorous rubbing and rolling to prevent skin damage. The degree of rubbing and rolling should be judged by slight redness of the skin.

3. Before making the hair lump, it must be washed with alkaline water to remove grease and rinsed with clean water.

4. The dough or vegetable lump used in the process must not be consumed orally.
