Improving Eye Health: Traditional Chinese Massage and Bloodshot Eyes

February 19, 2024

The eyes are the most revealing part of a woman's age. Many people have bad eye habits and know that this can harm the eyes, but few actually make changes. Are bloodshot eyes a sign of illness?

Are bloodshot eyes a sign of illness?

Bloodshot eyes may indicate high blood pressure.

When the blood vessels on the conjunctiva are filled with blood, they become congested. Ophthalmologists remind us that conjunctival bleeding usually has no obvious cause, but if you have severe hypertension or platelet deficiency, the conjunctiva can also become congested. Generally speaking, occasional bloodshot eyes do not need to be overly concerned, as conjunctivitis or staying up late can also cause bloodshot eyes.

Improving eye health with traditional Chinese massage

Section 1

Rub the eye acupoints on the earlobe. Use the ridged surface of the thumbs and index fingers to pinch the eye acupoints in the center of the earlobe, while the other three fingers naturally curl. With the accompaniment of music, rhythmically knead the acupoints while performing a gripping movement with all the toes, four beats per movement, for a total of four sets of eight beats.

Section 2

Rub the temples. Use the ridged surface of the thumbs to press on both temples, while the other fingers are relaxed and curved. With the accompaniment of music, rub the temples in circles, four circles per beat. Then, keep the thumbs still and use the inner side of the second joint of the index fingers to apply slightly more force, scraping from the brow to the end of the brow, scraping twice per two beats. Alternate between these two movements, four sets of eight beats.

Section 3

Rub the Four Whites acupoints. Use the ridged surface of the index fingers to press on both acupoints, with the thumbs against the hollow of the lower jaw, while the other fingers are relaxed and curled into a hollow fist shape. With the accompaniment of music, rhythmically knead the acupoints, one circle per beat, for a total of four sets of eight beats.

Section 4

Rub the Wind Pool acupoints. Use the ridged surface of the index and middle fingers to press on both acupoints, while the other three fingers are relaxed. With the accompaniment of music, rhythmically knead the acupoints, one circle per beat, for a total of four sets of eight beats.

Section 5 Rub the acupoints along the Governing Vessel on the head.

Press and bend the hands on the acupoints along the Governing Vessel on the head four times, from front to back, with the fingers relaxed. With the accompaniment of music, press and knead once per beat, for a total of four sets of eight beats.
