Improving Eye Health: Can Red Bloodshot Eyes Be a Sign of Illness?

February 11, 2024

The eyes are the most revealing part of a woman's age. Many people have bad eye habits, and they know that this can harm their eyes, but few actually make changes. Are red bloodshot eyes a sign of illness?

Are red bloodshot eyes a sign of illness?

Bloodshot eyes may indicate high blood pressure.

The conjunctiva of the eyes is filled with tiny blood vessels, and once these vessels rupture, congestion occurs.

Ophthalmologists remind us that conjunctival bleeding usually has no obvious cause, but if you have serious conditions such as hypertension or thrombocytopenia, the conjunctiva may also become congested. Generally speaking, occasional bloodshot eyes should not cause excessive concern, as conjunctivitis or staying up late can also cause bloodshot eyes.

Traditional Chinese massage to improve eye health

Section 1

Rubbing the earlobe acupuncture points, grip the earlobe acupuncture points with the ridged surface of the thumb and index finger of both hands, and let the other three fingers naturally close and bend. With the rhythm of the music command, rhythmically massage the acupuncture points with the thumb and index finger, while using all the toes of both feet to do a gripping movement. Repeat this for four sets of eight beats.

Section 2

Rubbing the temples, use the ridged surface of the thumbs to press on both temples, while the other fingers relax and bend naturally. With the rhythm of the music command, first massage the temples with the thumbs, making four circles for each beat. Then, keep the thumbs still and use the inside of the second joint of the index fingers to apply slight pressure from the eyebrows to the ends of the eyebrows, scraping twice in two beats. Alternate between these two movements for four sets of eight beats.

Section 3

Rubbing the Sibai points, use the ridged surface of the index fingers of both hands to press on both sides of the points, with the thumbs resting on the depression of the lower jaw, and the other fingers naturally clenched to form a hollow fist. With the rhythm of the music command, massage the points in a rhythmic manner, making one circle for each beat, for four sets of eight beats.

Rubbing the Fengchi points, use the ridged surface of the index and middle fingers of both hands to press on both sides of the points, while the other three fingers relax. With the rhythm of the music command, massage the points in a rhythmic manner, making one circle for each beat, for four sets of eight beats.
