Tea Therapy for Autumn Health: Clearing Heat and Eliminating Dryness

Throughout history, the health benefits and disease prevention effects of tea have been recognized. The nutritional components in tea are beneficial to our bodies, and drinking tea in autumn can both promote health and treat illnesses. However, the choice of tea therapy varies depending on different symptoms. Here, we introduce several teas for autumn health, which have good effects in clearing heat and eliminating dryness.


1. Radish Tea

Ingredients: 100g white radish, 5g tea leaves, and a small amount of salt.

Method: Wash and slice the white radish, then cook it until soft. Season with a little salt (do not add MSG). Brew the tea leaves in water for 5 minutes, then pour it into the radish juice and consume it twice a day, anytime.

Benefits: It has the effect of clearing heat, resolving phlegm, regulating qi, and stimulating appetite. It is suitable for cough with excessive phlegm and loss of appetite.

2. Ginger and Perilla Tea

Ingredients: 3g fresh ginger, 3g perilla leaves.

Method: Cut the ginger into thin shreds, wash the perilla leaves, then brew them in boiling water for 10 minutes to make the tea. Take it warm, twice a day, one dose in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Benefits: It has the effect of dispelling wind and cold, regulating qi, and harmonizing the stomach. It is suitable for wind-cold type cold, headache and fever, as well as gastrointestinal discomfort with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomachache, and abdominal distention.


3. Tremella Tea

Ingredients: 20g rock sugar, 20g Tremella fungus, 5g tea leaves.

Method: Wash the Tremella fungus, then stew it with water and rock sugar (do not use refined sugar) until cooked. Brew the tea leaves for 5 minutes, extract the juice, and add it to the Tremella soup. Stir well and consume.

Benefits: It has the effect of nourishing yin, reducing fire, moisturizing the lungs, and relieving cough. It is suitable for yin-deficiency cough.

4. Orange Red Tea

Ingredients: 3-6g orange red, 5g green tea.

Method: Brew the green tea in boiling water, then steam it in a pot over water for 20 minutes before consuming. Drink it anytime, once a day.

Benefits: It has the effect of moisturizing the lungs, reducing phlegm, regulating qi, and relieving cough. It is suitable for autumn cough with excessive phlegm, sticky phlegm, and discomfort.
