Two Herbal Teas for Winter Wellness: Ginger Jujube and Tangerine Peel Tea, and Goji Berry Tea

Winter is here, and some friends with weaker constitutions may experience various minor ailments. Below, I would like to recommend two types of herbal teas that are great for improving appetite, promoting digestion, nourishing blood, and calming the mind.


Herbal Tea 1: Ginger Jujube and Tangerine Peel Tea

Ingredients: 10g red dates, 4g ginger, 4g tangerine peel, 4g black tea

Instructions: Wash the red dates and remove the pits. Slice the ginger and set aside. Put the tangerine peel in a pot, add an appropriate amount of water, and bring to a boil. Then, reduce the heat and simmer for 2 hours. Strain the residue and collect the juice. Use the tangerine peel juice to brew the black tea, ginger slices, and red dates. Cover and steep for about 20 minutes, until the aroma is released. Then, it is ready to be consumed.

Benefits: Expels cold and nourishes the stomach

Red dates - tonifies Qi, invigorates the spleen, nourishes blood, calms the mind, and harmonizes the effects of other herbs.

Ginger - disperses external cold, warms the middle, stops vomiting, and warms the lungs to relieve coughing.

Tangerine peel - dries dampness, transforms phlegm, regulates Qi, and harmonizes the middle.

Herbal Tea 2: Goji Berry Tea

Ingredients: 20-30 goji berries, 3-4 red dates

Instructions: Take a small handful of goji berries (about 20-30), and 3-4 red dates. Simply put the goji berries and red dates into a glass cup, pour hot water, and let it steep for drinking. Alternatively, you can boil them in water before consumption.

Benefits: Goji berry tea is effective in treating various conditions such as weak constitution, feeling cold, improving digestion, liver and kidney diseases, tuberculosis, constipation, insomnia, low blood pressure, anemia, various eye diseases, hair loss, oral inflammation, and skincare. Goji berry tea has extensive medicinal effects and can be consumed long-term without any side effects. If you have severe dryness of the mouth and tongue after staying up late or have excessive internal heat, you can add 1-2 white chrysanthemum flowers to the tea. When brewing, do not drink immediately after pouring in hot water. Let the goji berries and red dates soak in the water for a while before drinking for better results.

Goji berry tea contains riboflavin, niacin, ascorbic acid, and other vitamins, making it suitable for use in beauty and cosmetic products. When used in hair care products, goji berry extract can prevent hair loss and make the hair shiny and black. It has remarkable effects on treating yellow and white hair caused by a lack of essential trace elements in the body, promoting the generation of hair melanin.
