The Importance of Testicular Temperature Regulation for Male Sexual Health

February 18, 2024

The testicles are the most important sexual organs for men. They produce sperm and secrete male hormones, which are the essence of being a man. The testicles require an optimal temperature of around 35°C to maintain normal physiological function, and a body temperature of around 37°C can be harmful to their function.

Due to the high temperature requirements of the testicles, the scrotum plays a crucial role in regulating testicular temperature. When the testicles are too cold, the skin of the scrotum contracts to prevent heat loss. Conversely, when the testicles are overheated, the skin of the scrotum relaxes to facilitate heat dissipation.

However, the temperature regulation function of the scrotum has its limits. When the temperature changes exceed its regulatory range, the physiological function of the testicles will inevitably be compromised.

Therefore, experts recommend that men take good care of their testicles. They should avoid sitting for long periods on loose sofas, as this can affect heat dissipation in the lower body. In daily life, it is advisable for men to wear loose pants to maintain ventilation and dryness in the lower body, creating a relaxed environment for the testicles to maximize their physiological function.
