January 28, 2024

Men are prone to experience kidney deficiency due to the pressure of life and work, as well as excessive physical and mental exertion. It is particularly important for men to prevent kidney deficiency. So, how to prevent it? Traditional Chinese medicine provides some methods!

Symptoms of Kidney Deficiency in Men

1. Lower back pain

Lower back pain is primarily caused by kidney deficiency, which can be categorized as internal injury or overstrain.

Internal injury kidney deficiency generally refers to congenital insufficiency, prolonged illness, or excessive fatigue.

2. Cold stomach and limbs

"Cold stomach" refers to a feeling of being sensitive to cold and wind.

"Cold limbs" refers to coldness in the hands and feet, and even coldness in the elbow and knee joints.

"Cold stomach and limbs" often accompanies symptoms of kidney deficiency such as soreness in the waist and knees, fatigue, shortness of breath, and a mild thirst.

3. Overindulgence in sexual activities

According to traditional Chinese medicine, the kidneys store essence. The essence of the kidneys generates both kidney yin and kidney yang, which nourish and warm the five organs and six viscera.

Kidney yin and kidney yang are mutually dependent and restrict each other in the human body, maintaining the physiological balance of the body.

If this balance is disrupted or one side weakens, it can lead to pathological changes.

Men may experience symptoms such as impotence, premature ejaculation, spermatorrhea, and other disorders.

4. Asthma

The kidneys have the function of "receiving qi".

When the kidneys are deficient, they cannot receive qi, which can cause wheezing, shortness of breath, and difficulty in breathing comfortably.

In severe cases, there may also be symptoms of worsened wheezing and profuse cold sweat.

Precautions for Men to Prevent Kidney Deficiency

1. Avoid consuming cooling foods excessively

Cool foods are often favored in hot weather. However, consuming too many cooling foods can lead to insufficient kidney yang and even kidney function decline.

2. Avoid excessive consumption of spicy foods

The spiciness of Sichuan and Hunan cuisine is a testament to the allure of spice. The spicy and hot flavors always attract people's appetites.

However, spicy foods contain a large amount of potassium, which can easily disrupt the body's acid-base balance.

This increases the workload of the kidneys and damages the spleen and stomach.

3. Avoid frequent consumption of coffee

Coffee has a mysterious charm. Some people use it to chat while enjoying a cup of coffee, but most people just use it to refresh themselves.

Coffee is made from roasted coffee beans. It contains a large amount of caffeine, fat, and sugar. Moderate consumption of coffee helps with digestion.

However, frequent consumption can excessively deplete the energy of the kidneys and affect kidney function.
