January 1, 2024

Men, as the pillars of the family, often bear the greatest pressure. They put in a lot of effort in both their career and family life. Men often have many social obligations outside of the home and frequently stay up late or indulge in activities like drinking and smoking, which take a toll on their health. As the hot summer arrives, especially during the hottest days, it is important to prioritize the health of our husbands, who are the backbone of the family. Today, I will recommend several nourishing soups for men to drink in the summer. Let's take a look!

Ingredients: Hetian jujube, fresh frozen sea cucumber (2), quinoa (1/2 cup). Seasoning: Rock sugar.

  Method:

  1. Clean the Hetian jujube and soak in warm water for half an hour (soak together with regular jujubes for comparison).

  2. Soak the sea cucumber for two hours to soften.

  3. Rinse the quinoa and soak for two hours.

  4. Slice the sea cucumber thinly.

  5. Pour the soaked jujubes into a pressure cooker, add water (amount depends on how many bowls you want to make).

  6. Add the sliced sea cucumber.

  7. Cover the pressure cooker and cook on high heat until it makes a hissing sound, then reduce to medium heat and cook for 10 minutes.

  8. After 10 minutes, release the pressure, open the cooker, add the soaked quinoa (no need to lock the pressure valve, just cover the lid), and cook on high heat for another 5 minutes.

  9. Finally, add rock sugar to taste.

 2. Abalone and Sea Cucumber Stew

Ingredients: Pre-cooked abalone, pre-cooked sea cucumber, broccoli. Seasoning: Abalone sauce, sea cucumber sauce, oyster sauce, salt, cooking wine, chopped green onion.

  3. Heat the pan, add chopped green onion, stir-fry briefly, add the broccoli, stir-fry on high heat with a little salt, and set aside.

  4. In a clean pot, add a bowl of chicken broth or water, abalone sauce, sea cucumber sauce, oyster sauce, salt, etc. Bring to a boil, add the sea cucumber and abalone, cook on high heat, then simmer on low heat for 1-2 minutes, season and add the broccoli, cook until boiling.
