Dietary Remedies for Men with Poor Liver Function: A Guide to Improving Health and Vitality

December 20, 2023

Men often neglect personal health due to work and the fast pace of life, resulting in poor liver function. They often feel tired and weak. What are some dietary remedies?

Drinking alcohol is an important means of socializing, and many men consider it a daily habit. However, while enjoying the company and clinking glasses, alcohol silently damages their liver. Men with poor liver function often experience fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, and vomiting.

Dietary principles: For these men, their diet should consist of high-vitamin, appropriate-calorie, and protein-rich foods.

Dietary remedies: Fish, shrimp, chicken, and beef are rich in protein and amino acids that the body needs and are easily absorbed and utilized. Adzuki beans and jujube are also suitable for consumption. For lunch, one can have stir-fried chives with eggs, spinach with beef slices, and tomato and egg soup. Millet porridge, cauliflower stewed with meat, and adzuki bean and carp soup are ideal dinner options for men with poor liver function.

1. Avoid spicy food

Garlic, onions, ginger, star anise, and fennel are spicy foods and condiments that can cause dryness and further exacerbate internal heat, affecting the body.

2. Avoid greasy food

After consuming greasy food in autumn, it is difficult to digest and may accumulate in the intestines and stomach. Additionally, weak spleen and stomach function makes it harder for the body to adapt to the dryness of autumn.

3. Avoid raw food

Autumn is the season for harvesting aquatic plants such as water chestnuts, water caltrops, and water bamboo shoots. They are usually crispy and refreshing, with a delicious taste and medicinal effects such as clearing heat, detoxification, appetizing, digestion promotion, and phlegm reduction. However, consuming these aquatic plants raw can easily lead to infection by cysticerci, causing inflammation, bleeding, edema, and even ulcers in the intestinal mucosa, often accompanied by symptoms like diarrhea and loss of appetite.
