The Art of Scraping: A Step-by-Step Guide to Effective Technique and Aftercare

1. Preparation

Prepare all the necessary scraping tools and supplies. Check if the scraping board has any cracks, if the edges are smooth, if the corners are rounded, if the thickness is suitable, and if the lubricant for scraping is ready to avoid hurting the skin.

2. Inquiry and Explanation

Introduce the knowledge of scraping to the other party, eliminate their nervousness and fear, gain their trust and cooperation. Inquire about any contraindications for scraping and adjust the technique and intensity of scraping based on their physical condition and age.

3. Choose the Position

Select the appropriate position based on the part that needs to be scraped.

4. Apply Lubricant

Apply scraping lubricant evenly on the area to be scraped. The amount should be thin. If there is too much lubricant, it will flow down the skin and dirty the clothes, which is not conducive to scraping.

5. Scraping

Hold the scraping tool with your right hand and flexibly use wrist and arm strength to scrape in a certain direction, starting from light to heavy. The scraping tool is generally at a 45° angle to the skin, with even pressure. The force should penetrate deep into the deep tissues, and the scraping surface should be elongated as much as possible. When slight purple-red or purple-black Sha dots or marks appear under the skin, it is enough.

6. Time Limit for Scraping

Scrape each part about 20 times, and the scraping time should be around 20-25 minutes. For first-time scrapers, the technique should not be heavy, and the time should not be long. For those who have little or no Sha, do not blindly force the appearance of Sha. Wait for 5-7 days before the second scraping.

7. Post-Scraping Treatment

After scraping, use clean tissue or towel to wipe off the lubricant. Let them put on their clothes and give them a cup of warm water or diluted saline solution to replenish body fluids, promote metabolism, and accelerate the elimination of metabolic waste. Rest for 15-20 minutes before leaving.
