1. Acupoint selection

Kidney Yu, Mingmen, Zhishi, Guanyuan, Taixi, Sanyinjiao, Zhongji, Bladder Yu.

2. Location

Kidney Yu: Located in the lumbar region, 1.5 inches away from the lower edge of the second lumbar spinous process.

Mingmen: Located in the lumbar region, in the depression below the second lumbar spinous process along the midline.

Zhishi: Located in the lumbar region, 3 inches away from the lower edge of the second lumbar spinous process.

Guanyuan: Located 3 inches below the navel.

3. Scraping sequence

Start by scraping the back from Kidney Yu to Bladder Yu, Mingmen, and Zhishi. Then scrape the abdomen from Guanyuan to Zhongji. Finally, scrape the inner side of the lower limbs at Sanyinjiao, followed by scraping Taixi.

4. Scraping method

Use the scraping method. Apply an appropriate amount of scraping oil to the area that needs to be scraped. First, scrape the back from Kidney Yu to Bladder Yu using the corner of the scraping board, scraping downward 30 times to induce sha (reddish patches or petechiae). Then, scrape the Mingmen acupoint and Zhishi acupoint on the back, scraping back and forth from top to bottom until the skin turns red and sha forms. Next, scrape the abdomen from Guanyuan to Zhongji, avoiding excessive scraping, and scrape back and forth from top to bottom until the skin turns red and sha forms. After that, scrape the Sanyinjiao acupoint on the inner side of the lower limbs 30 times to induce sha. Finally, scrape Taixi on the feet using the corner of the scraping board 30 times to induce sha.
