Do you know how obesity occurs in the body? Now you must want to know how to solve the problem of obesity in a healthy and safe way! So today, I will tell you that traditional Chinese medicine can also help with weight loss.

Different body constitutions require targeted treatment. Because everyone's situation is different, it is like some people can eat a lot but not gain weight, while others gain weight even with a sip of water. Obesity may be due to excessive calorie intake that cannot be digested, or it may be due to dietary habits. It needs to be determined based on the individual's personal situation.

What Chinese herbal medicine can help with weight loss:

1. Lotus Leaf Powder: Burn the dried lotus leaf, grind it into powder, mix it with rice, and take it orally. It has the function of reducing swelling and lowering fat. Clinical observations have shown that lotus leaf has a significant effect in weight loss.

2. Qingshen No.1: Used to treat simple obesity. This medicine is composed of 15g each of astragalus, fangji, atractylodes, chuanxiong, polygonum multiflorum, 30g each of ze xie, raw hawthorn, salvia, incarvillea, and water buffalo horn, and 10g of xianling spleen. It is decocted with water to make 100ml, and 50ml is taken orally twice a day. For those who are overweight by more than 25%, the dosage can be increased to 150ml three times a day. This formula has the effects of invigorating qi and spleen, warming the kidney and assisting yang, activating blood circulation and resolving stasis, and diuresis and reducing swelling. It is mainly used for tiredness, chest tightness, shortness of breath, bloating, heavy limbs, and back pain.

3. Wuhuamumiaotiao Capsules: It is composed of seaweed, kelp, papaya, poria, hawthorn, coix seed, oolong tea, etc.

4. Sanhua Weight Loss Tea: It is made from various Chinese herbal medicines such as rose, jasmine, dahlia, chuanxiong, and lotus leaf. This tea has the effects of widening the chest and promoting qi, dispelling diseases and eliminating drinks, diuresis and reducing swelling, activating blood circulation and nourishing the stomach, and lowering fat and refreshing the mind.

Commonly used Chinese patent medicines for weight loss include Fengfengtongsheng San, which is suitable for obese patients with excess phlegm and heat; Qixiaowan, which is suitable for obese patients with yin deficiency and internal heat; Baijinwan, which is suitable for obese patients with phlegm stasis and hyperlipidemia; Jianshifen, which is suitable for obese patients with phlegm heat obstruction and constipation; and Ningzhi, which is suitable for obese patients with spleen deficiency and dampness and phlegm stasis.

There are six methods of Chinese medicine for weight loss:

1. Stomach-tonifying and fat-reducing method: Most obese people have excessive sweet and fatty intake, and the oil and fat stick to the stomach, often causing bloating, acid regurgitation, foul taste in the mouth, and sticky tongue coating. It is recommended to use hawthorn, barley malt, and radish seed to help digestion and fat reduction. These medicinal herbs have long been recorded in traditional Chinese medicine books for their ability to eliminate fat deposits. Commercially available hawthorn fruits, hawthorn cakes, and hawthorn pastries are delicious and can be carried around conveniently. Fresh radish is refreshing whether eaten raw or stir-fried, and can be considered as a simple food therapy for lowering fat.

2. Blood-activating and stasis-removing method: Obese people have excessive fat in their blood, which can easily cause arteriosclerosis. Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are often caused by this. Medicines that activate blood circulation and remove stasis can dilate the coronary arteries, increase blood flow, reduce blood lipids, prevent plaque formation, and promote its regression. For obese people with blood stasis obstruction, women with amenorrhea or purple spots on the tongue coating, blood-activating and stasis-removing methods are suitable. Commonly used blood-activating and stasis-removing lipid-lowering drugs include Angelica sinensis, chuanxiong, and danshen. These can be used alone or in combination with other herbs to achieve the effects of activating blood circulation and regulating menstruation, relieving pain, and are commonly used drugs for treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Other herbs such as Paeonia lactiflora and Achyranthes can also activate blood circulation and relax tendons, and are suitable for those with blood stasis and meridian obstruction.

3. Chest-widening and phlegm-resolving method: Traditional Chinese medicine literature states that "fat people often have phlegm". This phlegm refers to the turbid phlegm caused by excessive fat. Some obese people have heavy phlegm and fire, and tend to be irritable and easily get angry, resulting in high blood pressure, headache, dizziness, and insomnia. They may also have a greasy tongue coating and dry stools, and are prone to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In this case, the chest-widening and phlegm-resolving method is suitable. Commonly used medicines include gualou, a traditional medicine known for widening the chest and resolving phlegm. Commercially available gualou pills are made from this herb and can reduce blood lipids, especially effective in treating coronary heart disease. Gualou kernel also has a moisturizing effect on the intestines, making it suitable for those with phlegm and fire stagnation and constipation. Baihe, also known as small garlic, is often used in combination with gualou. It was used by the famous physician Zhang Zhongjing in the Han Dynasty to treat chest pain and heartache. It has been used for thousands of years and has the effects of widening the chest, resolving phlegm, and reducing fat. Commercially available Chenpi plum and orange peel are delicious and can be used as dietary therapy for lowering fat.

These are just a few examples of traditional Chinese medicine for weight loss. It is important to consult with a qualified traditional Chinese medicine practitioner to determine the most suitable treatment based on individual conditions.
