The dangers of doping to the human body

October 2, 2023

The reason why athletes are prohibited from taking doping is that it will not only affect the fairness of the competition, but will also cause serious harm to the athletes' bodies, so what harm will doping cause to the human body?

Anabolic steroid doping is harmful

The harm of anabolic steroid stimulants is very great, male athletes after taking it will easily lead to impotence, testicular atrophy, reduced sperm production or even azoospermia and other symptoms, and ultimately affect fertility. They can also cause personality changes, abnormal kidney function, breast enlargement, premature baldness and other symptoms.

Female athletes who take such stimulants for a long time can suffer from hair loss, abnormal sexual function, menstrual disorders, and even amenorrhea and infertility. Female athletes may also experience male signs such as thickening of the voice, muscle growth, hairiness, and beard growth, which are irreversible even after stopping the drug.

The most serious danger for both male and female athletes is that it can induce hypertension, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction and cerebral hemorrhage, as well as liver cancer and kidney cancer.

Psychostimulant dangers

Psychostimulants, if used in large quantities, can cause rapid and shallow breathing, increased blood pressure, and in severe cases, respiratory paralysis and death. Long-term use is prone to headache, panic, anxiety, insomnia, tinnitus, tremor and other adverse reactions, and in severe cases, death due to heart failure.

Hazards of beta-blocker stimulants

The adverse effects of beta-blockers are dizziness, insomnia, depression, hallucinations, bradycardia, low blood pressure, and can also induce bronchial asthma. If the drug is suddenly stopped after long-term use, it can cause tachycardia, myocardial infarction and even sudden death.

Narcotic sedative stimulant hazards

Narcotic sedative drugs can cause respiratory distress and drug dependence, commonly used can become addicted, and therefore cause serious physical and social problems.

Diuretic stimulants

Many athletes take diuretics because of their ability to dilute urine and mask other stimulants taken by the athlete. However, long-term use of diuretics can cause severe dehydration in the body, and in severe cases, kidney failure can occur.

Peptide hormone stimulant hazards

Growth hormone use in adolescents can cause abnormal development of hands, feet, face and internal organs. Long-term use of erythrocyte growth hormone can lead to liver and heart failure, and can also cause diabetes.
