  1. Morphology of Millet

  Perennial erect herb, can grow up to 1 meter tall. Thick and strong rhizome, yellow-brown in color. Basal leaves with 1-2 pinnate compound leaves; leaflets ovate-heart-shaped, 4-6 cm long, 1.5-3.5 cm wide, gradually pointed at the tip, near-heart-shaped at the base, oblique, with sharp serrations on the edges, and covered with stiff hairs on both sides; leaf stalks long and slender, densely covered with brown long soft hairs.

  Large conical inflorescences borne at the top, covered with brown long soft hairs; flowers pink; 5 stamens. Fruits are capsules; numerous seeds. Flowering period is in spring.

  2. Morphology of Red Corydalis

  Perennial erect herb, 45-65 cm tall. Covered with brown long soft hairs mixed with glandular hairs; rhizome running horizontally, thick and chunky, covered with brown scales and dark brown long hairs, dark brown adventitious roots. Basal leaves are 2-3 pinnate compound leaves, with long petioles, and narrow stipules.

  Leaflets are ovate to elongated oval or inverted ovate, 2.5-10 cm long, 1.5-5 cm wide, usually short gradually pointed at the tip, rounded or wedge-shaped at the base, with sharp serrations on the edges, covered with stiff hairs on both sides, especially dense on the veins; stem leaves 2-3, smaller, similar to basal leaves, with shorter petioles, drill-shaped at the base.

  Flower stalk erect, 20-50 cm tall, covered with scales at the lower part and densely covered with brown curled long soft hairs at the upper part; flowers are bisexual or unisexual, sometimes monoecious or dioecious, borne in cone-shaped inflorescences along with the stem leaves; bracts ovate, longer than the calyx by 1.5 mm, calyx shallow cup-shaped, 5-lobed; petals 5, narrow and linear, about 5 mm long, pale purple or purplish-red.

  10 stamens, filaments bluish-purple, anthers green, turning purple when mature; 2 carpels, partially united at the base, semi-superior ovary. Capsule turning orange when mature. Numerous seeds. Flowering period is in August to September.
