Method 1: Mung Bean Coix Seed Poria Ze Xie Pork Bone Stew
Ingredients:
Mung beans and coix seeds, 80g each; poria and Ze Xie, 12g each; 5 red dates; 500g pork bones; 3 slices of ginger.
Directions:
Wash all the ingredients separately and soak the herbs. Remove the pits from the red dates. Crack the pork bones. Put everything into a clay pot and add 2500ml of water (about 10 bowls). Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer for about 2 hours over low heat. Add salt to taste. Serves 3-4 people.
This method helps to clear heat, promote diuresis, eliminate dampness, and nourish the body.
Method 2: Old Winter Melon Fresh Lotus Leaf Poria Ze Xie Crucian Carp Soup
800g old winter melon, 1/2 fresh lotus leaf, 12g each of poria and Ze Xie (available at Chinese medicine stores), 80g yam, 1 crucian carp, 100g lean pork, 3 slices of ginger.
Wash all the ingredients. Cut the winter melon into pieces with the skin and seeds intact. Soak the Chinese herbs and yam slightly. Clean and fry the crucian carp until slightly golden, then add a little water. Put everything into a clay pot and add 3000ml of water (about 12 bowls). Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for two and a half hours. Add salt to taste. Serves 3-5 people.
