[Refreshing Summer Heat Relief Porridge]

[Applicable population]

It is suitable for people who suffer from summer heat, headache, chest tightness, thirst, dark urine, and summer heat diarrhea.

[Usage and Taboo]

It is not suitable for people with weak spleen and stomach and excessive Yin deficiency. Take it during lunch or dinner.

[Ingredients]

500g winter melon, 1 cleaned duck, 200g rice, half a fresh lotus leaf, 5 shiitake mushrooms, 3g dried tangerine peel, salt, scallion, ginger, and sesame oil as needed.


[Procedure]

1. Peel and core the winter melon, wash it, and cut it into thick pieces. Soak the shiitake mushrooms in warm water, remove the stems, wash them, and cut them into slices; wash the duck meat, and cut it into large pieces.

2. Wash the rice and soak it for half an hour, then drain the water. Put it in a pot, add an appropriate amount of water, and bring it to a boil.

3. Put the shiitake mushroom slices, winter melon pieces, fresh lotus leaf, and dried tangerine peel into the pot, reduce the heat to low, and continue to simmer for 20 minutes.

4. In another pot, stew the duck meat until cooked, then put it into the porridge and simmer for another hour. Finally, add salt, scallion, ginger, and sesame oil for seasoning.
