Therapeutic Porridge Recipes for Chronic Gastritis in Middle-aged and Elderly People

Chronic gastritis is a common problem among middle-aged and elderly people. Due to factors such as age, the bodies of middle-aged and elderly people are generally weaker. Medicated Porridge 1: Dried Tangerine Peel and Lean Pork Porridge

Ingredients: 9 grams of dried tangerine peel, 12 grams of squid bones, 50 grams of lean pork, and an appropriate amount of white rice.

Instructions: Wash the lean pork and cut into slices. Rinse the white rice and cook it with dried tangerine peel and squid bones to make porridge. After it is cooked, remove the dried tangerine peel and squid bones, add the sliced lean pork and cook until the meat is done. Season with salt.

Medicated Porridge 2: Ginger Porridge

Ingredients: 6 grams of ginger (or 3 milliliters of ginger juice), 2 scallions, 50 grams of glutinous rice.

Instructions: Cut the ginger into thin slices or use ginger juice. Cook the glutinous rice into a thin porridge first, and then add the ginger (or ginger juice) and scallions. Cook for a moment and it is ready to serve.

Effects: Warms the middle and nourishes the stomach, dispels cold and stops vomiting.

Indications: Suitable for elderly patients with chronic gastritis and spleen and stomach deficiency and cold type, with epigastric pain, vomiting clear water, nausea, and regurgitation.

Note: Not suitable for patients with yin deficiency and excessive internal heat, bleeding disorders, sore throat, and constipation.

Medicated Porridge 3: White Atractylodes and Pig Stomach Porridge

Ingredients: 30 grams of white atractylodes, 10 grams of betel nut, 1 pig stomach, a small amount of ginger, and 100 grams of glutinous rice.

Instructions: Wash the pig stomach and cut it into small pieces. Cook it with white atractylodes, betel nut, and ginger to extract the juice. Remove the residue and use the juice to cook glutinous rice into porridge. The pig stomach can be taken out and served with sesame oil and soy sauce.

Effects: Tonifies the middle and benefits qi, strengthens the spleen and stomach.

Indications: Suitable for elderly patients with chronic gastritis and weak spleen and stomach, with hidden epigastric pain, loss of appetite, fatigue, lack of energy, abdominal bloating, and unsatisfactory bowel movements.
