【Processing Methods of Ze Xie】
1. Ze Xie: Remove impurities, sort by size, soak in water until 80% transparency, remove and air dry, moisten evenly inside and outside, slice, and air dry.
2. Bran processing: Take bran, sprinkle it in a pot, wait until smoke rises, add Ze Xie slices, stir-fry until yellow, remove, sift out the bran, and let it cool. Use 10kg of bran per 100kg of Ze Xie slices.
3. Salt-bran processing: Take Ze Xie slices, moisten them evenly with salt, air dry, then add honey-processed bran, process according to the bran processing method, using 6kg of salt and 60kg of wheat bran per 500kg of Ze Xie. Water as needed.
4. Wine processing: In a pot heated to 100 degrees, add Ze Xie slices, stir-fry several times, spray evenly with wine, stir-fry until dry, remove and let it cool. Use 5kg of wine per 100kg of Ze Xie.
5. Salted Ze Xie: Take Ze Xie slices, spray and mix evenly with saltwater, let it moisten slightly, put it in a pot, stir-fry over low heat until slightly yellow on the surface, remove, and air dry.
【Applications of Ze Xie Prescription】
Prescription name: Ze Xie San
Composition: 30g Ze Xie, 30g Mulberry Root Bark (filed), 30g Akebia Stem (filed), 30g Fructus Aurantii Immaturus (slightly yellowed and de-seeded after stir-frying with bran), 30g Poria Cocos, 30g Areca Seed.
Preparation method: Grind the above ingredients into coarse powder.
Functions and indications: Treats pregnancy-induced qi stagnation, bloating in the body and abdominal area, shortness of breath, difficult bowel movements, and rough urination.
Dosage and administration: Take 12g per serving, add 300ml of water and 4g of fresh ginger, boil it down to 180ml, remove the residue, and take it warm before meals. The desired effect is slight relief.
【Side Effects of Ze Xie】
Ze Xie has hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity. Its side effects mainly manifest as swelling of the liver and kidneys and other symptoms of poisoning if used improperly.
In addition, Ze Xie contains Ze Xie alcohols, which can cause decreased appetite and increased bowel sounds. The irritant substances within it can cause gastritis when ingested.
Large doses can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, increased frequency of bowel movements, abnormal liver function, hematuria, and in severe cases, respiratory paralysis.
It can also cause rashes and itching, and when applied topically, it can cause vesicular dermatitis. Long-term use can lead to water and electrolyte imbalances and damage to the liver and kidneys.
