Reducing Liver Fire: Herbal Recipes for a Balanced Spring

According to traditional Chinese medicine, during the spring season, the yang energy in nature is rising, and the yang energy in the human body is also rising. For people who usually have a deficiency of yin and excess of fire, damp-heat constitution, or poor body regulation ability, symptoms of liver fire may occur. So, what should one eat to reduce liver fire? Here, I recommend some herbal recipes that can help reduce liver fire!


1. Pork Rib Soup with Herba Artemisiae Scopariae

Ingredients: 15g of Herba Artemisiae Scopariae, 2 honey dates, 500g of pork ribs

Instructions:

1. Boil Herba Artemisiae Scopariae in water for 30 minutes, remove the residue and take out the juice;
2. Blanch the pork ribs in boiling water, add the Herba Artemisiae Scopariae juice and the honey dates;
3. Cook for 30 minutes, season, and then it can be consumed.

Benefits: Relieves phlegm and cough, disperses lumps and reduces swelling, clears liver fire, clears heat and detoxifies.

2. Cassia Seed Tea

Ingredients: 20g of cassia seeds

Instructions: Fry the cassia seeds with low heat until golden, then brew with boiling water and drink.

Benefits: Cassia seed tea can dispel wind, clear liver, improve vision, and moisten the intestines for bowel movement. It can effectively reduce liver fire and is more effective for patients with deficiency fire, headache, and constipation.

3. Mung Bean and Tremella Soup

Ingredients: 20g of Tremella, 60g of mung beans, appropriate amount of rock sugar, appropriate amount of water.

Instructions:

1. Soak the Tremella and mung beans in water, tear the Tremella into small pieces, drain and set aside;
2. Put the Tremella, mung beans, and about 2000ml of water in a pot, bring to a boil over high heat;
3. After boiling, reduce to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes. After the mung beans have softened, turn off the heat and add an appropriate amount of rock sugar. Dissolve and stir until well mixed, then serve.
