Clinical Manifestations of Qi and Yin Deficiency Chronic Nephritis:
Tiredness and fatigue, soreness and weakness in the waist and knees, heat in the hands and feet, dry mouth and thirst, poor appetite, swelling in the lower limbs, decreased urine output, loose stools, slightly red tongue with tooth marks on the edges, red tongue coating, weak or thin and rapid pulse.
Rib and Preserved Egg Congee
Ingredients: 500g ribs, 1 preserved egg, 250g glutinous rice, 100g peanuts.
Method: Soak the peanuts in water overnight, marinate the ribs with salt for several hours, peel and cut the preserved egg into small pieces. Cook the glutinous rice and peanuts with water to make congee, add the ribs when the water boils, and add the preserved egg when the congee is almost done.
Benefits: Nourishes Yin and moistens dryness.
Usage: Can be eaten for breakfast and dinner.
Astragalus and Soft-shelled Turtle Stew
Ingredients: 1 soft-shelled turtle (about 500g), 60g astragalus.
Method: Let the soft-shelled turtle swim in hot water to make it urinate, then kill it and wash it. Cook the soft-shelled turtle and astragalus with an appropriate amount of water until the turtle is cooked.
Benefits: Tonifies Qi and nourishes Yin, promotes diuresis and reduces swelling.
Usage: Eat with meals, can be consumed over 2-3 days.
Goose Meat and Winter Melon Soup
Ingredients: 250g goose meat, 500g winter melon.
Method: Cut the goose meat into pieces, add 500-800ml of water to the pot, stew until it is 80% cooked, then add the winter melon and continue stewing until it is tender. Season with monosodium glutamate.
Benefits: Promotes diuresis and reduces swelling, tonifies Qi and nourishes Yin.
Usage: Eat with meals, consume twice a day, for a course of 3-5 days.
