1. Eat small, frequent meals

When experiencing bloating, the stomach is already bloated. If you eat a lot of food, it will further burden the stomach and worsen the bloating. Therefore, it is advisable to eat small, frequent meals. However, it is not recommended to only consume liquid foods, as they are not easily digested by the stomach. It is best to choose semi-solid foods, such as cheese. Additionally, you can obtain sugars from sources like apples and pears, and protein from meats like beef and fish.

2. Avoid drinking tea

If you are already experiencing bloating, it is best to avoid drinking tea, especially strong tea. The caffeine in tea can stimulate the intestines and worsen bloating. Therefore, whether you are drinking tea or coffee, it is best to consume them after meals. Fermented tea should be chosen over raw tea, and the concentration should not be too strong.

3. Drink warm water

If there is a buildup of feces in the large intestine, bloating will become more severe. Therefore, it is necessary to have sufficient water intake to promote bowel movements. It is recommended for pregnant women to drink warm water instead of cold water, as cold water can cause intestinal cramps and uterine contractions. Additionally, carbonated and stimulating beverages like soda, coffee, and tea should be consumed in moderation.

4. Limit consumption of sweets

When dealing with bloating during pregnancy, it is also important to limit the intake of sweets, which are favored by women. Also, refined foods, which are often acidic, can lead to excessive gastric acid production. Refined foods also lack fiber, which can worsen constipation.

5. Increase fiber intake

During pregnancy, it is beneficial to consume more vegetables and fruits. The baby needs a lot of protein, but the demand for gas and discomfort-inducing foods such as starches, noodles, and beans is relatively low. Additionally, sugars and starches can be obtained from sources like apples and pears, and starch and protein can be obtained from meats like beef and fish.

6. Consume spicy foods in moderation

Spicy foods like ginger, scallions, and garlic have a stimulating effect on gastrointestinal motility and can also generate body heat. They can be consumed in moderation.



Pregnancy is something every mother should be proud of, but it is important to prioritize one's own health while carrying a baby. Even the smallest issue, whether it is bloating or other symptoms, should be taken seriously and addressed promptly to ensure a safe and healthy birth for the baby.
