The vision of infants gradually develops. Although the eyeballs of normal newborns are formed, their vision is not fully developed. Young parents should pay attention to adding food components that are beneficial for eye development to their babies.
Calcium: Calcium helps relieve eye muscle tension. Foods such as beans and bean products, dairy products, fish, shrimp, seaweed, squid, dried fruits like peanuts, walnuts, lotus seeds, edible fungi like shiitake mushrooms, mushrooms, black fungus, and leafy vegetables like amaranth, cilantro, and rapeseed are rich in calcium.
Vitamin A: Inadequate vitamin A can reduce the eye's ability to adapt to dark environments and cause dryness of the conjunctiva. The best sources of vitamin A are liver, cod liver oil, dairy products, eggs, as well as green, red, and yellow vegetables and orange-colored fruits.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is one of the components that make up the crystalline lens of the eye. A deficiency in vitamin C can lead to cloudy lenses and increase the risk of cataracts. Foods rich in vitamin C include fresh dates, cabbage, cauliflower, bell peppers, bitter gourd, rapeseed, tomatoes, bean sprouts, potatoes, radishes, citrus fruits, strawberries, hawthorn, and apples.
Protein: Protein is a major component of human tissues, and constant replenishment of protein is necessary for tissue repair and renewal. Lean meat, organ meats, fish, shrimp, dairy products, and eggs are rich in animal protein, while legumes are rich in plant protein.
