When we hear that someone has given birth, especially to a boy, we often say, "Congratulations on having a big, chubby baby boy." In most people's subconscious minds, they believe that the fatter the newborn baby, the better. But is this really true? Research shows that babies who weigh around 6 pounds at birth are the healthiest and most intelligent. During prenatal check-ups, doctors often advise pregnant women to control their weight. So how can this be done?
1. Eat a balanced diet and have smaller meals
During pregnancy, it is recommended to not overeat during each meal. It is better to have smaller meals more frequently. The baby in the womb cannot absorb too much nutrition at once, and the excess will be absorbed by the mother's body, leading to obesity.
2. Moderate fruit consumption
It is often said that eating more fruits during pregnancy is good for the baby. However, it is not recommended to consume excessive amounts. Consuming too much sugar can lead to gestational diabetes in pregnant women.
3. Engage in moderate exercise
From the third month of pregnancy onwards, pregnant women can engage in moderate exercise such as yoga or walking. This not only helps in controlling weight but also aids in childbirth.
