How to Clean Baby's Ears
Baby's ears often get dirty due to spit-up and sweating, and sometimes even form clumps. Therefore, mothers need to clean their ears from time to time. How can they clean them thoroughly?
1. First, rub baby soap to create foam in a small soap dish.
2. Start by washing the back of the baby's ears and the earlobes. Lay the baby down on a large bed, with the mother kneeling beside the baby's head, or place the baby in a crib, with the mother sitting on one side of the crib.
3. Then, gently place one hand on the baby's cheek on one side, so that the baby's face turns to one side.
4. Dip a finger from the other hand into the soapy liquid, and gently massage the back of the ear and the earlobes, thoroughly removing any dirt.
5. Use a wrung-out piece of gauze to wipe the area until it is clean and dry.
6. Gently wipe the entrance of the ear with a cotton swab made of disinfectant cotton.
7. Be careful during the cleaning process, and make sure not to let water enter the baby's ear canal to avoid middle ear infections.
Expert reminder: Earwax is often seen in a baby's ears, but it does not need to be specifically cleaned, as it naturally comes out with activities such as feeding and talking.
