Thread Embedding Therapy: Prolonged Stimulation for Effective Acupuncture Treatment

April 7, 2024

Overview

Embedding medical sheep intestine thread or umbilical cord thread into acupuncture points or tissues in order to prolong the stimulation time of the acupoints, and achieve the goal of preventing and treating diseases through the long-term stimulation of the acupoints and the gradual liquefaction and absorption of the thread by the tissues is called thread embedding therapy, also known as "long-lasting needle sensation therapy", which is one of the most ideal acupuncture stimulation therapies at present.

Procedure

(1) Routine disinfection of the skin at the acupoint for thread embedding. Hold the embedding needle with the left hand, hold the sheep intestine thread with the tweezers with the right hand, and insert the sheep intestine thread into the embedding needle tip.

(2) Quickly insert the needle into the acupoint, support the embedding needle tip with the left hand, and use a fine needle held in the right hand to embed the thread into the predetermined area through the needle tube, and quickly withdraw the needle.

(3) For those who bleed, apply pressure on the needle hole with a disinfectant cotton ball for a moment to stop bleeding.

After one session of thread embedding therapy, the headache immediately disappears. Six months later, she experiences some swelling pain at the Yintang acupoint, and the thread embedding therapy is repeated.
