Zusanli is the acupoint where the Yangming stomach meridian of the foot passes through. It has the functions of nourishing the spleen and stomach, harmonizing qi and blood, strengthening the body, and preventing diseases. Moxibustion at this acupoint can prevent diseases and promote longevity. It is known as the moxibustion for longevity in ancient times and is an important acupoint for health moxibustion in adults. Due to different moxibustion methods, it can be divided into gentle moxibustion and scar moxibustion at Zusanli.
Gentle Moxibustion at Zusanli:
After igniting the moxa stick, hold it close to the Zusanli acupoint, about 3 centimeters away. If you feel a warm and comfortable sensation in the area, keep it still. Moxibustion should be done for 10-15 minutes each time, until there is a slight redness in the area. Moxibustion should be done once every other day, 10 times a month.

Scar Moxibustion at Zusanli:
In the book "The Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion", it says, "If you want to be safe, Zusanli should not be neglected.". Scar moxibustion (suppurative moxibustion) at Zusanli was a commonly used health care method by ancient people. Moxa cones are used for scar moxibustion at this acupoint, which can be done once every 3 years, with 3-5 cones each time. The size of the moxa cones should be equivalent to a grain of wheat, a soybean, or half a jujube kernel. For specific operation methods, please refer to the "Scar Moxibustion with Moxa Cones" section.
