An Ai Zhu is a cone-shaped bundle of Ai fluff made by hand or machine.
During Ai Zhu therapy, the cone-shaped Ai bundle that is burned is called an Ai Zhu. Burning one Ai Zhu is called a "zhuang".
The cone-shaped small body made of Ai fluff burned during therapy is called an Ai Zhu. In ancient times, the most popular form of Ai therapy was the Ai Zhu method. The forms of Ai Zhu in ancient times were divided into cone-shaped Ai Zhu, cow horn-shaped Ai Zhu, and spindle-shaped Ai Zhu. The cone-shaped Ai Zhu is commonly used in clinical practice today.
(1) Hand-made method: Generally made by hand. Take pure and aged Ai fluff and place it on the fingertip of the left hand. Pinch and rotate with the index finger of the left hand and the thumb and index finger of the right hand to make it compact. Pinch it into a three-sided small body with a pointed top and a flat bottom, which is not only convenient to place but also burns with a gradually increasing flame, making it easier for patients to tolerate. Hand-made Ai fluff requires tight twisting and is resistant to burning without easily exploding.
(2) Ai Zhu device manufacturing method: The Ai Zhu device consists of three parts: the Ai Zhu mold, the pressure rod, and the probe. The Ai Zhu mold is cast with a conical cavity, leaving a small hole below the cavity. Place an appropriate amount of Ai fluff into the cavity of the Ai Zhu mold, and use a metal circular pressure rod at the lower end to press it into the hole, compacting it. It becomes a cone-shaped small body. Then, use the probe to poke the Ai Zhu out from the small hole on the back to make it an Ai Zhu. Ai Zhu made with an Ai Zhu device is tightly packed with uniform size, making it easier to use. If there is no Ai Zhu mold, a cone-shaped tube made of white iron or thick paper can be used as a substitute. After putting in the Ai bundle, press it with the tip of a pencil, and when it is turned out, it becomes a good Ai Zhu. In short, the more compact the Ai Zhu, the better, so that the flame gradually strengthens during burning, penetrating deeper and achieving better effects. If it is loose, the burning will be uneven.

(3) Size of Ai Zhu: According to clinical needs, it is usually divided into three sizes: small, the size of a grain of wheat; medium, the size of half a jujube pit; large, the size of half an olive. The medium-sized Ai Zhu is commonly used in clinical practice, with a height of 1cm and a bottom diameter of about 0.8cm, and it can burn for 3-5 minutes. The cone-shaped Ai bundle burned during therapy is called an Ai Zhu. Burning one Ai Zhu is called a "zhuang". When used for direct therapy, the Ai Zhu should be small; when used for indirect therapy, the Ai Zhu can be larger.
