Excavation site: Majiayao, Lintao County, Gansu
Description: The Majiayao site belongs to the cultural relics of the Neolithic Age. Majiayao, a Yanshao culture site in Gansu, was named after its discovery in Majiayao. It is located in Majiayao Village, Xiping Township, west bank of the Taohe River, Lintao County, 10 kilometers north of the county seat. The site includes the "Majiayao culture" of the early Neolithic period and the later "Qijia culture" and "Siwa culture," as well as remains of the Yanshao culture. The site has a rich collection of artifacts such as painted pottery, with a cultural layer thickness of 0.3 to 1.5 meters, a length of 350 meters east to west, and a width of 280 meters north to south.
