Flint (Paleolithic Era)
Location: Dayao Village, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia
Date of Excavation: 1973
Material: Stone
Description: The Dayao archaeological site is located 33 kilometers east of Hohhot City. Archaeological excavations have confirmed that this was an ancient stone tool manufacturing site dating back 700,000 years. Even today, within the site's extensive area, remnants of partially finished stone tools can still be found on the ground. The different layers of this cultural site belong to the early, middle, and late periods of the Paleolithic Era, spanning a remarkably long period of history, which is extremely rare.
