In the scrolls unearthed from the Dunhuang Grottoes, there is a recipe for longevity called "Immortal Porridge".

Method: Take 500 grams of peeled yam, boil until cooked; take 250 grams of Euryale seeds, boil and remove the shells, grind into powder, and put the two ingredients together with 500 grams of glutinous rice to cook into porridge. Consume on an empty stomach.

Benefits: Nourishes the body, strengthens Qi, invigorates the spirit, enhances vitality, and stops seminal emissions.

Another longevity recipe is called "Poria Porridge" by the Three Sus.

This medicinal porridge was discovered by Su Zhe, the younger brother of the Song Dynasty writer Su Shi. Su Zhe was often sick in his youth, with a weak spleen in summer and a weak lung in autumn. Traditional medicine didn't help him recover. One day, he learned from a friend that practicing qigong and eating Poria could cure his ailments. He followed his friend's advice for a year and indeed recovered. After that, he earnestly studied medical works such as "Shennong Bencao Jing" and made "Poria Porridge". He later shared this recipe with his father, Su Xun, and his brother, Su Shi, and the whole family consumed it.

Method: Take 15 grams of Poria and cook with 50 grams of glutinous rice to make porridge. Take one dose every day on an empty stomach in the morning.

Benefits: Strengthens the body, promotes health, and extends life.
