1. Don't sleep with your chest and abdomen exposed
Although the weather is hot in summer, you should still wear a vest or a thin shirt when sleeping at night. Cover your abdomen and chest with a sheet to avoid catching a cold and experiencing abdominal pain, diarrhea. Elderly people and children should cover themselves properly with a blanket.
2. Avoid sleeping outdoors
Even on hot nights in summer, you should not sleep in corridors or outdoors in order to seek coolness. This is to prevent mosquito bites or skin infections caused by dew on the body, which can lead to dizziness, weakness in limbs.
3. Avoid sleeping on the floor
Some people choose to sleep on a cement floor or a damp ground just for a moment of coolness. This can easily lead to rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, leg pain, or facial and eye swelling due to dampness and coldness.
4. Never expose yourself to drafts
In summer, although the entrance of a hallway or corridor is cool, you should not sleep there. Sleeping in such a place might feel refreshing, but it is easy to catch a cold, experience abdominal pain, and even catch a cold.
5. Stay away from plastic cool mats
During summer nights, some people sleep on plastic cool mats for the sake of coolness. This is not scientific. Due to the poor breathability of plastic products, they cannot absorb sweat, causing moisture to accumulate and not easily evaporate. This not only affects sleep but also harms health.
6. Don't skimp on afternoon naps
In summer, the days are long and the nights are short. The temperature is high and the body's metabolism is vigorous, resulting in greater energy consumption and easily feeling fatigued. Taking an afternoon nap in summer can relax the brain and all systems of the body, it is also one of the measures to prevent heatstroke.
