Beware of Harmful Flowers for Indoor Cultivation: Protecting Your Health and Well-being

March 9, 2024

Many people like to keep flowers at home, especially indoors, to refresh their minds, purify the air, and it has been proven that many flowers placed indoors do have many benefits for the human body. However, since there are flowers that are suitable for indoor cultivation, there are also flowers that are not suitable for indoor cultivation, and this should be noted because these flowers can directly harm human health when placed indoors.

Tulip

Tulip flowers contain an alkaloid that, when in contact for too long, can accelerate hair loss. Cypress plants, if there are a large number of them indoors, emit a strong pine resin smell, which affects appetite and makes pregnant women feel nauseous.

Night-blooming Jasmine

It emits a large amount of stimulating particles in the night, and if smelled for too long, it can make hypertensive and heart disease patients feel dizzy, depressed, and even worsen their condition.

Rose

The strong fragrance it emits can cause some people to feel chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing.

Oleander

Its secretion can cause poisoning, leading to drowsiness and decreased intelligence.

Orchid, Lily

The fragrance of these two flowers can stimulate the nervous system and cause excessive excitement, easily leading to insomnia.

Florist's Gloxinia

The sap of the Florist's Gloxinia leaves is highly toxic. If it comes into contact with the skin, it can cause severe itching. Its fruit is even more toxic and is called "dumb grass". Ingesting it can cause sore throat, mouth swelling, and even damage to the vocal cords.

Cassia

If the pollen it emits comes into contact with the human body for too long, it can trigger asthma or worsen coughing symptoms.
