Protecting Our Teeth: Massage Methods and Prevention Techniques

February 25, 2024

As we age, our teeth also gradually deteriorate. However, we have found that many young people often experience teeth falling out, decay, or discoloration. Through investigation, we have discovered that these issues are actually our own problems, resulting from our failure to prevent and treat them in a timely manner. Below are several methods to protect our teeth.

Massage Methods

1. Use your thumbs or index fingers to massage the facial acupoints such as Yingxiang, Chengjiang, Jia Che, Xiaguan, and the Hegu acupoint on the tiger's mouth of both hands for about 30 seconds each time to promote circulation.

2. Massage the Yongquan acupoint on the sole of the foot and the Taixi acupoint on the inner ankle for about 5-10 minutes, 1-2 times daily, to nourish kidney essence.

3. Close your four fingers together and rub the lips in a circular motion with moderate speed until a warm sensation is felt, which can protect the gums.

Methods to Prevent Teeth Falling Out

1. Tooth Picking

During the process of chewing food, fibers (such as leek, celery, lean meat, etc.) often get stuck between the teeth, which can damage both the teeth and the periodontal tissues. They should be promptly removed. However, be careful not to pick the teeth too often, as it may widen the gaps between the teeth.

2. Regular Teeth Knocking

With lips slightly closed, knock the molars 50 times, then knock the incisors 50 times, and finally knock the teeth in a cross pattern 50 times. Do this once in the morning and once at night.

3. Proper Chewing

The proper way to chew is to use both sides or alternate sides of the teeth.

4. Correcting Bad Habits

Some infants and young children have habits such as thumb sucking, tongue licking, teeth biting, mouth breathing, and lip biting, which can cause dental malformation. Correcting these bad habits is beneficial for dental health, and dental alignment should be corrected as early as possible.

5. Drinking Tea Regularly

Tea contains fluoride, which has a preventive effect on tooth decay. Drinking tea regularly or rinsing the mouth with tea can protect the teeth and clean the oral cavity.

Having good teeth is the foundation of our health. With good teeth, we can eat all kinds of foods and supplement our body with various substances needed. Only in this way can we have a healthy and long life.
