What is Rabies?

Rabies is a contagious disease caused by the rabies virus.

The Hazards of Rabies

Rabies targets our central nervous system. When the virus enters the human body, it spreads through the nervous system and eventually reaches the brain.

After the virus reaches the brain, it reproduces in large numbers, annihilating brain cells. In less than 10 days, the patient dies from brain damage. And it is 100% fatal.

The Source of Rabies Transmission

(1) According to statistics, 95% of rabies in China is spread by infected dogs.

(2) It can also be transmitted through mammals such as cats, bats, and foxes.

How is Rabies Transmitted?

If a small animal is infected with rabies, the virus can be transmitted to humans through biting, scratching, licking wounds, and even kissing.

The Incubation Period of Rabies

The most common incubation period for rabies is 1-3 months, with a few cases lasting less than a week or over a year.

It should be noted that the closer the injury is to the central nervous system, the shorter the incubation period and the faster the onset of the disease.

What are the Symptoms of Rabies?

1. Furious Type: hydrophobia, photophobia, aerophobia, drooling, difficulty swallowing.

2. Paralytic Type: paralysis.

Prevention Methods for Rabies

1. Vaccinate Dogs

Help dogs get vaccinated to reduce the occurrence of rabies and its spread among dogs.

2. Do Not Abandon Dogs Easily
