Are Disinfectant Wipes Really Safe and Sanitary?

January 30, 2024

Girls usually like to carry some disinfectant wipes with them, which are generally used to wipe hands, and even wipe faces. The water contained in these wipes always brings a cooling sensation, but are these so-called disinfectant wipes really safe and sanitary?

When using disinfectant wipes, please pay attention to the following points:

 1. Choose fragrance-free

Disinfectant wipes are generally divided into fragrance-free and scented types. In order to minimize irritation to the skin, it is best to choose fragrance-free wipes, especially for sensitive skin.

 2. Check the package instructions

Not all disinfectant wipes can be used to clean the face. Using regular wipes may damage the delicate facial skin. If you want to use them to clean your face, you must see the words "can be used to clean the face" on the outer packaging of the wipes.

 3. Choose individually wrapped

Try to choose individually wrapped wipes, so as to maintain the moisture and disinfection effect of the wipes as much as possible. After taking out a sheet of non-individually wrapped wipes, it should be immediately sealed with the adhesive strip to avoid high temperature or direct sunlight, which may cause the wipes to dry out and affect their effectiveness.

 4. Pay attention to irritability

Do not directly wipe the eyes or damaged skin with wipes. If symptoms such as skin redness, itching, and irritation occur after using wipes, stop using them immediately.

Wipes are divided into regular wipes and sanitary wipes. The ingredients of regular wipes are mostly water and fragrance, which can only clean but not disinfect, while sanitary wipes can disinfect and contain bactericidal ingredients. Lastly, let me tell you: running water and soap are actually the best cleaning products.
