Teeth are very important for humans. Improper diet and improper dental care can damage teeth and cause pain. Some foods should not be eaten when experiencing toothache, as they can worsen the pain. Do you know which foods to avoid?
Foods to Avoid When Experiencing Toothache
1. Sweet and Greasy Foods
Sweet and greasy foods usually contain sucrose, which can directly stimulate cavities. They can also hinder the absorption of the stomach and make tooth decay worse. If tooth decay worsens, it can easily lead to toothache.
Therefore, when experiencing toothache, it is important to avoid sweet and greasy foods.
2. Acidic Foods
If a food is acidic, it should not be consumed directly. Acidic foods produce more lactic acid in our mouth, which can further damage the cavities and worsen the demineralization of the teeth. Acidic foods can cause significant damage to teeth, and toothache becomes more severe as the teeth deteriorate.
3. Hard and Rough Foods
Foods in this category include roasted cashews, roasted peanuts, bamboo shoots, and fried pork chops, among others. When consuming these foods, we need to chew forcefully, which can cause the food to get stuck in the cavities and enlarge them. This can make the teeth more painful and worsen the toothache.
Therefore, people with toothache should also avoid hard and rough foods.
