"Ingrown Nail" is probably not unfamiliar to everyone. It grows around the edges of the nails. Don't underestimate ingrown nails, as severe cases can lead to amputation. There are examples right in front of us. Let's take a look with the author!

Woman Tears Off Ingrown Nail, Resulting in Pus Surgery

A few days ago, a woman named Xiao Liu in Dalian found white ingrown nails on the edge of her right middle finger nail. In order to be convenient, she casually tore off the ingrown nail with her hands.

At that time, it did hurt a bit when tearing off the ingrown nail, but she didn't pay much attention to it because she had done it before.

On the same day, Xiao Liu also washed clothes, but the next day she found that her middle finger started to swell and hurt. As time went on, she found a small pus pocket at the spot where she tore off the ingrown nail, and the surrounding area started to turn white. Obviously, it had become infected. Her finger also became more and more swollen, and she couldn't sleep all night due to the severe pain. The next day, Xiao Liu hurried to the emergency department of the 210th Hospital of the People's Liberation Army in Dalian for treatment.

After examination by the emergency physician, Xiao Liu was diagnosed with finger inflammation.

Finger Inflammation

In the early stage of finger inflammation, there is only mild pain at the fingertip without obvious swelling. Hot water soaking, hot compress, physical therapy, elevating the affected limb, applying traditional Chinese medicine externally, and using antibiotics can help alleviate the inflammation in about half of the patients. If severe pain and obvious swelling occur at the fingertip, and palpation reveals increased tension in the fingertip, incision and drainage should be performed to relieve the high pressure in the fingertip cavity, reduce pain, and prevent bone damage and osteomyelitis formation.

Correct Handling Method for Ingrown Nails

1. Soak the hand in warm water for about 5 minutes to soften the keratin layer of the skin;

2. Use sterilized scissors to cut off the ingrown nail from the root;

3. After that, it is best to apply moisturizer to keep the hands moist;

Warm Reminder: Simple ingrown nails are basically unrelated to vitamin deficiency, so do not blindly supplement large amounts of vitamins.
