The Hidden Dangers of Unhealthy Snacks and Food Choices

January 20, 2024

More and more people are starting to pay attention to health preservation in their lives, wanting to achieve a healthy body through health care. However, there are some things that are best not to do frequently during the process of health care, as they can cause significant harm to health.

 Potato Chips

Potato chips contain a large amount of fat and calories, which can disrupt the body's appetite and easily lead to obesity. It can be said that eating such salty foods can also harm the skin. The golden potato chips may look very appetizing, but this appetite is built on excessive oil. Potato chips contain a lot of oil, which can form harmful trans fatty acids in the body. If too much trans fatty acids are consumed, it can cause indigestion, resulting in an increase in the concentration of triglycerides and bad cholesterol in the blood, thereby suppressing the level of good cholesterol and greatly increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

 Barbecue

When meat is grilled, the fat that is released will drip onto the charcoal fire. The heat polymerization reaction caused by the charring of the fat can combine with the protein in the food, producing a highly carcinogenic substance called benzopyrene. This substance will attach to the surface of the food and accumulate in the body when ingested, which can induce gastric cancer and colorectal cancer.

 Pickled Foods

1. Increased Liver Burden

Due to the addition of preservatives, colorants, and stabilizers, although these additives will not cause poisoning as long as they are not excessive, they can still increase the burden on the liver.

2. Increased Kidney Burden

Processed meat products such as ham are mostly high-sodium foods. Excessive intake of salt can disrupt the body's water balance, leading to fluctuations in blood pressure and kidney damage.

3. Ulcers and Inflammation

Pickled foods often have their vitamin C destroyed, with its components almost completely lost. Therefore, if you consume large amounts of pickles, it can cause vitamin C deficiency, which can lead to decreased immunity, various inflammations, ulcers, and even various diseases.
