Caring for Your Feet: The Key to Healthy and Beautiful Feet

January 18, 2024

Every day, we actively work on facial whitening in our beauty routines, but few people pay attention to the need to care for our feet as well.

1. Foot Care

The key to maintaining healthy feet is to ensure proper circulation. If your feet are always cold or your toes and nails appear bluish-purple, it indicates poor circulation in your feet. Pressure, cold, and injuries can all cause circulatory disorders, resulting in poor blood flow in the feet.

Pressure can be caused by tight shoes, narrow socks, or tight pants, all of which affect blood circulation. Therefore, it is important to wear properly fitting footwear. Shoes should conform to the natural shape of your feet, with about 2 centimeters of space in front of your big toe.

A properly fitting shoe should feel comfortable when your body weight is evenly distributed on your feet. When buying shoes, try them on both feet as they may differ in size. When transitioning from high heels to flats, take it slow to allow your feet to adjust. Pay attention to choosing socks and pants that are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable.

To avoid cold-related foot injuries, keep your feet warm when working in extremely cold outdoor conditions. As soon as you enter indoors, remove your cold shoes quickly. If your feet are cold, soak them in warm water (slightly higher than body temperature) to help warm them up. Remember to protect yourself from the cold, as it often starts from the feet.

As summer approaches, it's time for your feet to "shine" in sandals. Before that, give them special care: fill a basin with warm water, add a cup of cooked oats and 1/3 cup of salad oil, mix well, soak your feet in it, use a pumice stone to remove rough skin, dry your feet, and while they're still warm, put on a pair of plastic bags and wear wool socks for at least 2 to 3 hours. Do this once a week, several times in a row, and soon you'll have beautiful feet to show off in sandals.

Any wound on the skin can develop into a serious injury, such as cracks or cuts from trimming toenails. Therefore, do not use razors or other blades to trim your nails. When cutting your nails, avoid digging into the nail grooves and cut them straight, gently smoothing out any rough edges. Clean your feet daily and regularly change your socks and shoes to keep your feet clean.

2. Foot Decoration

One important factor in maintaining healthy feet is foot decoration. It is recommended to do foot decoration at least once a week, preferably after taking a bath when the skin on your feet is softest.

The tools and supplies for foot decoration include a flat basin, bath salts, a small brush (old toothbrush or nail brush), moisturizer, nail clippers, and a foot file.

The steps for foot decoration are as follows: first, fill the basin with warm water and a small amount of bath salts, then immerse your feet in the warm water, ensuring that the water covers your feet; second, gently wash your feet with the brush, lightly scrubbing your toenails and all parts of your feet, soak for about ten minutes; third, rinse with overflow water, pat dry, and apply moisturizer to the entire foot; fourth, use the foot file to gently remove dead skin from the soles and heels of your feet; fifth, trim your toenails flat (avoid cutting them too short to protect your toes), and then evenly apply a foot cream.

Before going to bed, you can apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly on your feet and wear a pair of white cotton socks. In the morning, your feet will be soft and smooth.
