The Importance of Brushing Teeth: A Spa Treatment for Your Oral Cavity

January 14, 2024

Brushing teeth is the most important method to keep our oral cavity clean. It is like giving our oral cavity a spa treatment, allowing us to laugh without any worries.

At the same time, brushing teeth plays an important role in preventing various oral diseases, especially periodontal disease and dental caries. Brushing teeth twice a day is the habit of most people's lives. In fact, brushing teeth three times a day, after every meal, is the healthiest way to brush teeth. This not only benefits dental health, but also prevents dental diseases.

When brushing teeth, there are some details that we should pay attention to:

First, the brushing time should be sufficient for 3 minutes;

Second, pay attention to the correct brushing method. Brush teeth in the direction of tooth growth, not vigorously brushing back and forth, to avoid damaging the gums and effectively reduce the chance of brushing food residue into the teeth;

Third, the best time to brush teeth is within 3 minutes after meals, which can prevent bacteria from depositing on the tooth surface and prevent dental caries. Other times, you can clean your oral cavity with water, saltwater, or mouthwash.

The saying goes, "disease enters through the mouth," so brushing teeth is particularly important. But we cannot neglect the toothbrush, the essential tool that "visits" our oral cavity multiple times a day. The toothbrush is also an important factor in determining the quality of our brushing. Therefore, after brushing teeth, we should carefully clean the toothbrush and remember to rinse off the residual toothpaste and food debris. Secondly, when choosing a toothbrush, we should also pay attention to selecting a toothbrush with a small brush head and soft bristles, and brushing teeth should be done with appropriate force, not too much force. At the same time, the type of toothpaste should be changed regularly to avoid using one type of medicated toothpaste for a long time, which can disrupt the balance of oral bacteria and make it easier to develop dental caries.

Warm reminder:

In order to avoid intestinal and pulmonary infections caused by bacteria on the toothbrush, or even enter the bloodstream through damaged oral mucosa, we should regularly disinfect the toothbrush, preferably replacing it every month. If resources are limited, at least ensure to replace it every 3 months.
