We often get sick to some extent in our daily lives, such as catching a cold, which is a common disease. Many people think that any illness is unbearable and can affect our physical and mental health. It would be great if we could go through life without getting sick. However, some illnesses are not as terrible as we imagine. They not only heal easily but also help detoxify our bodies.
1. Diarrhea
Occasional diarrhea is not a big deal. Especially when the excrement has a foul odor, it means that toxins are being expelled from the body. Therefore, when experiencing diarrhea, avoid blindly taking antidiarrheal or anti-inflammatory drugs. Only in severe cases should medication be used to relieve symptoms. In milder cases, it is only necessary to replenish water and drink hot water to help the respiratory tract expel toxins faster.
2. Cough
Coughing is one of the most common symptoms in the respiratory system and is beneficial to the body's defense mechanism. Coughing helps eliminate foreign substances or secretions that invade the respiratory tract and eliminates respiratory irritants. When experiencing cough symptoms, keep warm and drink plenty of water. Also, avoid spicy foods such as pepper and onions that can irritate the respiratory tract. If coughing frequently accompanied by symptoms such as fever, chest pain, or weight loss, seek medical attention immediately.
3. Vomiting
Vomiting is a defense reflex of the body to eliminate harmful substances and reduce absorption. Using antiemetic drugs at this time will allow harmful substances to remain in the body, posing a health risk. If it is pure vomiting, it is advisable to replenish water in moderation to avoid water and electrolyte imbalances. If vomiting occurs repeatedly or is accompanied by symptoms such as abdominal pain or fever, seek medical attention immediately.
4. Nosebleed
We can consider nosebleeds as a way for the body to "cool down" itself. When a person drinks less water, consumes too much spicy food, experiences dry environments, or has excessive internal heat, the body often chooses the weak nasal mucosa to "cool down". Therefore, there is no need to worry about nosebleeds as they will stop on their own in a short time. However, if nosebleeds continue for a period of time, early examination should be done.
5. Common Cold
It is not good for a person to not catch a cold within a year. This is because a cold can stimulate the production of antibodies in a person, enabling them to develop an ability to resist the cold virus. Once these antibodies are formed, the next time the same virus invades, they can recognize and kill the virus. Moreover, according to medical research abroad, people who frequently catch colds are less likely to develop cancer. The antibodies produced in the body can prevent mutations in cancer genes.
If a person frequently falls ill, it is advisable to regularly visit the hospital for check-ups to detect any other diseases and facilitate early treatment and prevention.
