In the holiday season, one gathering follows another, especially for many business people who have no choice but to attend year-end banquets. Even if you don't want to drink, you still have to force yourself to have a few drinks. How can you avoid getting drunk?
1. Before drinking alcohol, have a glass of milk or eat a few pieces of bread. Avoid drinking on an empty stomach to prevent irritation to the stomach lining.
2. If you anticipate drinking a lot, take vitamin B supplements in advance until the social events decrease, in order to protect your liver. You can also consciously consume more foods rich in vitamin B, such as animal liver, pork, beef, lamb, egg yolks, vegetables, and oats, to increase the level of vitamin B in your body.
3. When drinking white wine, drink plenty of water to facilitate the quick excretion of alcohol through urine. When drinking beer, go to the restroom frequently. When drinking strong alcohol, it is best to add ice cubes.
4. Avoid drinking alcohol too quickly or excessively. Drink slowly to give your body time to break down the ethanol in your system. It is easy to get drunk if you are forced to drink several glasses as punishment or if you gulp down a drink in one go.
5. When drinking alcohol, consume more animal liver, such as pork liver, to enhance your body's detoxification ability towards ethanol.
6. When drinking alcohol, eat more leafy green vegetables, as the antioxidants and vitamins in them can protect the liver.
7. When drinking alcohol, consume more soy products, as lecithin in soy has a protective effect on the liver.
8. It is advisable not to drink alcohol when feeling tired.
9. Do not drink alcohol after taking medication, especially after taking sleeping pills, sedatives, or cold medicine.
10. Do not drink carbonated beverages, such as cola or soda, while drinking alcohol, as it can accelerate the absorption of alcohol by the body.
